The URD

A republican force for proposals

Founded and led by Danièle Boni-Claverie, a former minister of the Republic, the Republican Union for Democracy brings together women and men who want a peaceful, democratic and fair Côte d’Ivoire.

Why we exist

Proposing rather than opposing on principle

The URD was born of a conviction: Côte d’Ivoire needs political leaders who propose solutions, not camps that clash. A consistent opponent of abuses of power, the URD has never given up on dialogue.

Our method: start from the realities Ivorians live with, build precise proposals with experts and citizens, and take them all the way to decision-makers. The URD’s proposal for a new electoral institution, handed to the Minister of the Interior on 2 October 2026, is a case in point.
