Danièle Boni-Claverie

Journalist, former head of RTI, twice a minister of the Republic, founder and President of the URD: a life devoted to public debate and dialogue.

Profile

A woman of dialogue and conviction

Born in Tiassalé, the daughter of judge Alphonse Boni, first President of the Supreme Court of Côte d’Ivoire, Danièle Boni-Claverie began her career at national radio before heading Radiodiffusion Télévision Ivoirienne (RTI).

Minister of Communication from 1993 to 1999, then Minister for Women, the Family and Children, she founded the Republican Union for Democracy to carry a republican voice committed to reconciliation and dialogue.

Re-elected as party leader at its first ordinary congress in 2020, she served as spokesperson of the Coalition for Peaceful Change (CAP-CI) in 2025-2026. In 2026, she is leading the URD’s contribution to the reform of the electoral system.
