The 2025 election year put one demand at the heart of the URD’s action: that no candidate be removed from the presidential race through legal or political devices. The party carried this demand within a broad coalition, of which its President became one of the voices.
March 2025: the birth of CAP-CI
On 10 March 2025, most opposition parties came together in the Coalition for Peaceful Change in Côte d’Ivoire (CAP-CI). Danièle Boni-Claverie was appointed deputy spokesperson.
June-July: bringing people together and talking
On 23 June, a URD press release welcomed the agreement between the PDCI-RDA and the PPA-CI and called for the front to be widened. On 7 July, in an interview with Mondafrique, the URD President pointed to anomalies in the voters’ roll and warned of the risk of a disrupted election. On 16 July, she was part of the CAP-CI delegation at the first meeting between the coalition and the RHDP.
September: spokesperson of the coalition
On 26 September 2025, CAP-CI appointed Danièle Boni-Claverie as its spokesperson, replacing Simone Ehivet Gbagbo, who had entered the campaign. Ahead of the 27 December legislative elections, she set out the coalition’s position on taking part in the vote in November.
2026: a new stage
On 7 May 2026, CAP-CI reorganised under the chairmanship of Pascal Affi N’Guessan; its relaunch statement thanked Danièle Boni-Claverie for the roles she had held.
