January 2024: purchasing power and young people
Reacting to the Head of State’s end-of-year address, the URD President highlighted the fall in household purchasing power, the expectations of young people and the need for reconciliation.
September 2026: "the discontent that is rumbling"
In her September 2026 statement, Danièle Boni-Claverie called on the authorities to hear the country’s discontent and named its causes: illegal gold mining, which she described as a national disaster; the high cost of living and rising prices of basic necessities; the cocoa price, a source of anger among farmers; and evictions she considered inhumane.
