Since its founding in the mid-2000s, the URD has consistently defended the same requirement: free, transparent elections accepted by all.

Danièle Boni-Claverie founds the Republican Union for Democracy.

Alliance

The URD joins the Alliance of Democratic Forces while asserting its autonomy.

The dove, the blue and the orange

The URD’s blue expresses our attachment to the institutions of the Republic. The orange carries the energy of action. The white dove in flight recalls our first commitment: civil peace, the precondition for any democracy.
